SMM11, Oct. 14: on Oct. 31, Russian mining giant Norilsk Nickel said its nickel production rose 7% in the third quarter from the previous quarter to 57266 tons. Norilsk Nickel produced 720000 ounces of palladium and 164000 ounces of platinum from Russian-made raw materials in the third quarter, down 6 per cent and 11 per cent, respectively, from the previous quarter. Nornickel confirmed its forecast for nickel production from domestic raw materials in 2019.

Sergei Diachenko (Sergey Dyachenko), first Vice President and Chief operating Officer, commented on the production results for the third quarter of 2019: "in the third quarter, production of all our core metals increased, mainly due to increased productivity. The increase in nickel production was attributable to the increase in the processing volume of advanced scrubs in the Polar sector and the addition of new chlorine leaching technology in the, Kola MMC refining plant, as well as the increase in the production of marketable metals in Norilsk Nickel Harjavalta as a result of higher processing volumes, a large number of Russian materials and raw materials from third parties. The increase in PGM production was mainly due to an increase in production in the first quarter of 19 years as a result of the release of the stock in process at the Krasnoyarsk Precious Metals Refinery. In addition, the increase in PGM production of, Norilsk Nickel Harjavalta is due to the higher metal content in Russian processed feed. The increase in copper production is mainly due to the expansion of the Bystrinsky project, which was fully operational in September 2019. "

In the third quarter of 2019, combined nickel production rose 7 per cent from the previous quarter to 57 kt, almost all of which came from Russia's own raw materials. The increase was mainly due to an increase in Norilsk Nickel Harjavalta production as the smelter resumed capacity utilization after planned maintenance in the second quarter of 2019. In the first three quarters of 2019, combined nickel production rose 6 per cent to 167kt from a year earlier. The increase was attributable to the expansion of MMC's Nickel tetracarbonyl/Ni (CO) 4 production, increased utilization of smelters, larger amounts of Matt nickel shipped to Norilsk Nickel Harjavalta for further processing and nickel feeds provided by third-party Boliden.

Russian business

In the third quarter of 2019, MMC nickel production was 40 kt, virtually unchanged from-1% in the previous quarter. , Kola MMC nickel production rose 7 per cent to 121 kt in the first three quarters of 2019 from a year earlier. The increase was mainly due to increased shipments of advanced frosting from the Polar sector and the gradual refining of refined nickel using the new chlorine leaching technology. In addition, under its diversification strategy for high-end product sales, MMC's Nickel tetracarbonyl/Ni (CO) 4 production more than doubled to 2.7 kt (up 104 per cent from a year earlier).

NORILSK NICKEL HARJAVALTA (Finland)

Nickel production at the Norilsk nickel plant increased by 29 per cent to 17 kt in the third quarter of 2019 on a month-on-month basis, mainly due to the impact of the second quarter of 2019, when the smelter was undergoing regular annual maintenance and repairs. The 5 per cent to 46 kt, increase in nickel production in the first three quarters of 2019 from a year earlier was due to downstream restructuring and the processing of nickel raw materials provided by Boliden, resulting in an increase in the processing of Russian raw materials.

NKOMATI (South Africa)

In the first three quarters of 2019, Nkomati (Norilsk Nickel owned 50 per cent of production of 5 kt nickel (6 per cent year on year), 3 kt copper (22 per cent year on year), 26 koz palladium (11 per cent year on year) and 11 ounces of platinum (20 per cent year on year). The increase in metal production is attributable to an increase in production in mines with higher metal content.

A grand event for thousands of people in China's non-ferrous metal industry

Shanghai colored net (SMM) annual meeting is the annual event of the metal industry, with an annual participation scale of thousands of people, domestic and foreign metal industry people gathered together to review and summarize the experience and harvest of the year, and lay the groundwork for the production, operation and operation of the coming year.

This year's "2019 China Nonferrous Metals Industry Annual meeting and 2020 (SMM) Metal Price Forecast Conference" was jointly created by SMM and China Renewable Resources Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. At the same time, the first "China Renewable Metals Industry chain Development Summit Forum" was held, and SMM metal price forecasting conference and waste battery recycling exchange were set up for you to enjoy. From the development of non-ferrous metal market to the recycling of renewable resources, from the detailed explanation of policies and systems to the research and development of industrial chain technology.

This is not only a meeting, but also an industry exchange of information, collision thinking sparks of brainstorming!
